The European Commission published on its website the findings of the Flash Eurobarometer 414: Preferences of Europeans towards tourism.
The survey was carried out in all 28 Member States of the European Union, Turkey, FYROM, Iceland, Montenegro and Moldova. Its main objective was to explore a different range of aspects regarding holidays of Europeans in 2014 and their plans for 2015.
The survey has been requested by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Internal-Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs. TNS Opinion & Social network was responsible for carrying out survey in the Member States. In Cyprus, the fieldwork was conducted by CYMAR Market Research Ltd. between the 22/01/2015 and 23/01/2015 among 501 respondents.

Among others, the survey aimed to identify the main reasons Europeans choose to go on holiday and the possible reasons for returning to the same place for holiday. It asked for the information sources that respondents use to explore possible holiday destinations and the tools they use to organize their holiday.
